Erasing Your iPhone for Resale or Giveaway

Are you thinking of erasing your iPhone to sell it or share it with a family member? Don’t worry; it’s a straightforward process. In this guide, we’ll show you how to erase your iPhone step by step.

Step 1: Set up your new iPhone.

Before erasing your old iPhone, you’ll need to set up your new iPhone. This will back up your old iPhone and transfer everything to your new device.

Step 2: Erase your iPhone.

Once you’ve set up your new iPhone, it’s time to erase your old one. To do this, go to your Settings app, tap on “General,” scroll down to the bottom, and tap on “Reset.” Then, tap on “Erase All Content and Settings.” This will wipe all data from your iPhone.

Step 3: Enter your passcode and Apple ID.

Before erasing your iPhone, you’ll need to enter your passcode and Apple ID. This ensures that nobody else can wipe your phone without your permission.

Step 4: Skip backup.

If you’ve already set up your new device, skip the backup process. There’s no need to upload data to the iCloud if everything has been transferred.

Step 5: Wait for the erasing process to complete.

It may take a few minutes to erase your iPhone completely. Once the process is complete, you’ll see the traditional “Hello” screen.

Step 6: Set up as a blank iPhone.

If you’re selling your iPhone, you’ll want to set it up as a blank device so that the potential buyer can see the specifications. To do this, choose the “Set Up Manually” option and skip all of the sign-in parts. Then, show the buyer the specifications by going to “Settings,” “General,” and “About.”

That’s it! Erasing your iPhone is a straightforward process. Follow these steps, and you’ll have a clean slate ready for resale or sharing with a family member.
